Woods of Whitchurch put up for sale after sale falls through

Woods of Whitchurch, which Lucy Gardner has owned for over a decade, was put up for sale with Christie & Co for £700,000 initially, but the price has now been reduced by £50,000.

Although Ms Gardner revealed on social media earlier this month that she had accepted an offer on the business, she later confirmed that the sale had sadly fallen through.

Ms Gardner said the decision to sell hadn't been easy, but she felt the time was right to begin the "next season" of her life.

The "tastefully presented" village shop sells a range of hot and cold foods, and a variety of alcoholic beverages and locally grown vegetables.

A cafe on the first floor of the building offers an "extensive menu", with seating for up to 22 customers indoors.

The business is currently run by the owner and six full-time members of staff, and has a turnover of over £840,000 a year.
