A HEREFORDSHIRE-born hospitality group has been singled out for praise at the Hereford Times Community Awards.

Dorian Kirk, a co-founder of ART Hospitality, was honoured on Wednesday (October 29) when he picked up the Business of the Year award.

The company, formerly known as A Rule of Tum, owns three restaurants in the city: The Bookshop, The Burger Shop, Leaven Pizza, and its "answer to Box Park", The Yard.

Judges said the business had made a "significant contribution" to not only Hereford's hospitality world, but to its economy and community.

The company, which has also expanded into Worcester and Birmingham, provides jobs and training, and operates a 'cheprenuer' model, along with running DISH, which "takes its ethos weddings and festivals".

Speaking after being handed the award, Mr Kirk said: "It's absolutely awesome. We've been going in the city since supper clubs back in 2013, [we] have three restaurants now in Hereford, and putting on Hereford Indie Food.

"We love Hereford so much, it's the birthplace of our business.

"We feel so proud to be recognised for all the hard work we've put into the community."

The 2025 Hereford Times Community Awards were held at Hereford Cathedral, which saw members of local organisations, businesses, volunteers, and health care professionals celebrated for their outstanding commitments to the county.
