A CLOSED Herefordshire village pub is on the market, with new owners or tenants on the horizon.
The Crown Inn at Whitchurch, which closed in July 2024, has been put on the market with agents Sidney Phillips for £450,000.
The Wye Valley pub is prominently placed on the side of the A40, just opposite the popular village of Symonds Yat, which attracts tourists to the river banks each year.
The pub was previously put on the market near the time of closure, but was offered purely on a leasehold basis, for a price of £18,500.
Potential investors are now able to choose between purchasing the freehold or the leasehold for the building.
Describing the trade areas, the agents said: "The principal trading areas are a two-section lounge bar and restaurant with wood sprung and parquet effect flooring throughout.

"The lounge bar area has beamed effect ceiling and fireplace with feature exposed stone chimney breast with sold fuel burner installed.
"This area can seat approximately 25 customers. Located adjacent to this area is a bar servery which has panelled frontage and mirror display back fitting.

"The room opens out into the restaurant area which can seat 40+ customers to assorted tables and chairs.
"This area also has open fireplace with exposed stone chimney breast."
A former public bar and games room has a "fully equipped" bar servery, and although not currently in use, when furnished it could accommodate over 40 customers.
Owner's accommodation is also included in the sale, which is located on the first floor, and comprises three double bedrooms, a large lounge, kitchen, and bathroom.
