TWO roads in a Herefordshire town will close for a month in October for major works.

Temporary road closure orders are planning for the B4260 Wilton Road from Wye Street to Royal Parade and the U70710 Royal Parade in Ross-on-Wye.

Herefordshire Council said the road closures are required to allow for permanent barrier installation and the likelihood of danger while the works are being carried out.

The council said definitive dates and times will be notified by on-site advanced warnings, with diversions signposted locally.

Containment barriers were installed along the rockface in Wilton Road in 2021.

Further temporary measures were taken to prevent crumbling rocks from the Wilton rockface beside the road falling into the road in 2024.

Failures in the rock had seen debris fall into the carriageway, Herefordshire Council said at the time.
