STUDENTS across Herefordshire have been celebrating their successes as they receive their GCSE results.

Teenagers gathered at schools across the county to receive the hotly-anticipated results. 

Bishop of Hereford's Bluecoat School head Mr Williams said this year's results are a testament to the strength of the school community and the positive culture of aspiration and support on offer.

One Hereford school, Hereford Academy, is celebrating its "best ever" proportion of Grade 9s, with deputy head Marj Francis saying staff are "so proud" of their students.

And at Fairfield students were praised for performing "amazingly well", with over 72 per cent achieving five GCSEs including English and Maths and over 52 per cent achieving this at higher levels.

In Bromyard, Queen Elizabeth High School head Sebastien Seneque said he was "delighted" by the achievements of an "exceptional" year group that has "consistently impressed" staff.
