New research could change what we know about the Shakespeares.

Dr Matthew Steggle of Bristol University has found a letter fragment in Hereford Cathedral's collection with a direct link to William Shakespeare.

The letter, discovered in 1978, started with 'Good Mrs Shakspaire,' and suggests a happy marriage between William and Anne Shakespeare, contrary to previous beliefs.

Dr Steggle is set to discuss his findings at Hereford Cathedral on Friday, June 27.

The Reverend Canon James Pacey, chancellor of Hereford Cathedral, said: "We are really pleased that Dr Steggle is able to join us to share more about his fascinating research and how it might change all that we currently know about William and Anne Shakespeare."

The event, 'In the Company of Good Mrs Shakspaire,' will include a talk by Dr Steggle and a chance to see the letter fragment.

Tickets are £15, including wine and canapés, and can be purchased from the cathedral website.
