MORE than 750 runners took part in the first-ever city edition of Run Hereford for St Michael's Hospice on Sunday (May 11).

“Thank you to each and every runner who joined us for Run Hereford,” said Amy Johnson, Events and Community Fundraiser at St Michael’s.

(Image: Joe Nobile) “It's always so humbling to see the support there is for the Hospice in our community.”

Keeping runners safe along the route were dozens of volunteer marshals. They were joined by water station volunteers who helped keep those taking part hydrated in what was one of the warmest days of the year so far.

The charity is also thankful to event sponsors Hereford Contract Canning for its continued support of this popular event.

The charity, which was founded in 1984, provides palliative and end of life care, plus support for loved ones, across Herefordshire and beyond.

The majority of the charity’s annual costs are funded by the community, with events like Run a vital source of income.
