I’M STILL not sure where I stand on the Hereford bypass issue.
There are parts of the A49 that are horribly congested and it only takes a minor incident or accident to create near-gridlock.

I pity the poor people who have to drive in the rush hour. But I believe the construction of the bypass is tied in with 10,000 new homes, all doubtless with one or two cars. So how is that going to ease congestion in the town?
What we need most of all, of course, is decent public transport and I heard a rumour we were being allocated £1m for this purpose. When is that going to take effect? The bypass will cost millions and could easily become another HS2!
