A Ukrainian polyphonic singing day is set to take place in Hereford.
The event on Sunday, February 23, at the Bishop's Palace, will be led by Galyna Grigoriadi, a talented Ukrainian musician who arrived in the UK as a refugee in 2022.
The event marks three years since the full-scale war in Ukraine began.
Organisers have invited keen singers to attend the event from 10am to 3pm.
The event will see them come together through the power of Ukrainian polyphonic singing, a tradition that is believed to banish winter and darkness, bringing light and renewal.
Polyphonic singing is also known as overtone singing.
The full-day singing workshop is open to confident singers who can read music.
Attendees will learn how to sing in multiple parts, guided by Miss Grigoriadi, and will have the chance to explore the beauty of Ukrainian folk harmony.
The event also offers a chance to connect with Ukrainian culture and community.
Upon arrival, participants will be welcomed with a cup of Ukrainian traditional herbal tea and cake.
Miss Grigoriadi and her helpers will introduce attendees to traditional singing with a few Ukrainian songs.
The aim is to learn 3-4 Ukrainian traditional songs throughout the day, with a one-hour break for lunch, which will include a "delicious Ukrainian lunch suitable for vegetarians".
At the end of the day, at 2.30pm, there will be a performance of the songs learned throughout the day for friends and family.
Miss Grigoriadi will also sing more Ukrainian songs, accompanied by the traditional Ukrainian instrument Bandura.
A spokesman for the event said: "Let’s sing together in Ukrainian to welcome warmth, light, and hope for the Ukrainian nation.
"Prepare yourself for a deep immersive experience into Ukrainian culture."
