A DRUG-DRIVER caught out in Hereford has been found guilty and banned from the roads after denying committing an offence by using cannabis before driving.
Ricky Grice entered a not guilty plea to one count of driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit when he appeared before magistrates in Kidderminster earlier this month.
The court heard from Crown Prosecution Service prosecutor Tim Talbot that the 41-year-old had been caught in College Road in Hereford after getting behind the wheel of a white BMW on January 24.
He was over the drug-driving limit with more than the specified legal limit of cannabis product delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol in his blood.

A blood test revealed that he had 3.4 microgrammes (mg) of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol per litre of blood. The legal limit is two mg.
Grice, of Kingsway, was found guilty at trial on June 13 and disqualified from driving for three years and fined £240.
He must also pay prosecution costs of £300 and a £96 victim surcharge.
