WE visit the lovely Leominster area of the county every year.
This year we’re sad to see Leominster town centre reduced to rubble, pedestrians corralled into narrow footways, and shops we knew closed.
If this temporary mayhem were to result in something much better it might be worth it: a Corn Square for pedestrians, with flower beds and seating, spacious with clean air, to draw in people to shop and linger.

As visitors with a fondness for Leominster we feel this is what the town needs to thrive. People like spaces for humans, not vehicles, an oasis of calm and quiet, to take their time.
If that’s what the local people asked for, they were wise: that’s what they should have. It is all a great shame.
