A HEREFORD man has been sentenced after causing injuries to a cyclist in a crash on a junction with a busy main road.
Derrick Field entered a guilty plea to one count of driving a mechanically propelled vehicle on a road without due care and attention when he appeared before magistrates in Worcester earlier this month.

The court heard from West Mercia Police, prosecuting, that Field had been behind the wheel of a Citroen Xsara Picasso when he crashed into a cyclist, causing them injuries, at the junction of Chestnut Drive with Holme Lacy Road on August 25 last year.
The 76-year-old, who was not present at the hearing, had also failed to stop after the crash and left the scene, the court was told.
Field was handed a £166 fine and six penalty points on his driving licence. He must also pay prosecution costs of £110 and a £66 victim surcharge.
