NOTHING quite says summer in Herefordshire like a cold pint of cider.
Made from fresh fruit, it's a light, refreshing and thirst-quenching drink that we love in this county.
One of Herefordshire's most well-known cidermakers in Westons, which has a range of brands on the market.
I've never been much of a cider drinker, but the exception for me is ice cold, sweet cider on a summer's day.
I was sent two flavours of Westons' Henry Westons cider, including the brand new vintage pear, to try.

Despite by no means being a cider connoisseur, I did enjoy both of these drinks and could tell they were of great quality. They both had a lovely, crisp taste and are refreshing.
I personally preferred the pear flavour because of the sweeter flavour profile, which tends to be what I go for in alcoholic drinks. I enjoyed the fruity taste, and it also wasn't too overly sugary.
The apple cider is more bitter-sweet and traditional tasting, and definitely much drier than the pear.
I also gave a bottle of each to my boyfriend to try as he is more of a cider drinker than me, and he very much gave them his seal of approval. He also preferred the pear flavour for its sweetness.

Westons kindly sent us samples of the Henry Westons cider, but usually they cost £20 for a pack of 12 500ml bottles, working out at £1.66 per bottle, which I would say is a decent price point.
Henry Westons cider is made from apples sourced from Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire. The cider is slowly matured, spending time in oak vats to deliver a smooth and rounded drink.

The brand's other offerings include vintage rose, organic cider and cloudy vintage, and I also plan to check these out.
Westons is also known for brands like Stowford Press, a well-known favourite in Herefordshire pubs and across the UK, Mortimer's Orchard, Old Rosie, Rosie's Pig and more.
I absolutely loved sampling both flavours, but if I had to pick a favourite I would go for the pear every time.
An excellent choice for beer gardens or sunny picnics, this one gets a big tick from me.
