I THINK that Herefordshire Council believes that by building more and more housing people will come to live in Hereford.
They can only see the increase in council tax which they will get. They have not improved the infrastructure or the services, such as schools, hospitals, doctors, and dentists, and, in fact, these facilities have shrunk.
I believe many of the existing population are very dissatisfied with the recent large-scale money-wasting developments in the city.

The shopping developments have been a disaster, splitting the city into two parts, and many of the ‘new’ businesses have left the city, presumably after low rates deals expired. The roads and pavements are some of the worst in the country, with the highest parking charges outside of London.
Unless they can attract a large manufacturer to the county nobody can afford to live here.
