A HEREFORD restaurant has revealed why it has made the decision to help customers pay for parking.
En BBQ, located at the Old Market in Hereford, recently announced that it would cover two hours of parking for customers who spend at least £50 on Fridays and Saturdays.
Marketing director Sophie Sherief told the Hereford Times: "As a local business we have implemented free parking on a Friday and a Saturday for people that are dining with us.
"We believe that the rising cost of parking is stopping people coming into the centre. When we spoke with friends and family one of the main reasons people don't come into town is parking.
"The prices are high but also it's the thought of having to add on an extra £5 every single time you get out of the car.
"We're just doing what we can to encourage people to eat and shop local."

In an earlier social media post, the restaurant wrote: "Herefordshire, we've heard you loud and clear! Parking costs are affecting footfall for businesses in town.
"Nothing should stand between you and a delightful meal at En BBQ, especially parking fees!
"That's why we're stepping up to cover your parking expenses when you dine with us! Just let us know that you have parked a car to get to us and we'll do the rest!"
En BBQ is a Korean barbecue restaurant which serves sushi, cocktails and more.
It opened in 2021, taking over the former Chimi Changa restaurant in the Old Market shopping centre.
