A BUSY Worcestershire road had unexpectedly closed for over an hour due to a concern for welfare.
West Mercia Police closed Worcester Road, which passes through Malvern, at around 10am on Saturday (April 27).
The road had become blocked near Malvern Link Station and Malvern Community Hospital and traffic was closer than usual in both directions.
The Worcester Road had been re-opened by police at around 11.50am.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service: "We were called to reports of concern for a patient’s welfare near to the junction of Worcester Road and Osborne Road at 9.33am, one ambulance attended the scene.
"On arrival, we discovered one patient, a woman. Once brought to safety, she was assessed and taken to hospital."
