POLICE are investigating a theft that happened at a Herefordshire pub.

A total of 12 20-litre drums of used cooking oil were stolen from the Barneby Inn, Bredenbury, near Bromyard.

Kym Barnett, landlord of the pub, said the theft happened overnight (April 23 to 24).

"They were in a cage," said Mr Barnett.

"You have to leave it a while before they are taken away.

"It was just sitting out there, but it definitely happened last night.

"The are not the lightest to lug about, but it is fairly valuable. You can put them in diesel cars and firms buy it back.

"There's no chance that they will catch them, I just told the police because I want to make people aware that this happens."
