Driver angry about pothole-ridden Herefordshire road

"It wrecks vehicles and you cannot get prams down there," said Mr Whittall.

"It's a health hazard.

"Lots of walkers and riders go down there, but it's getting worse and worse.

Mr Whittall is the latest of several people to have come forward to vent their frustration at the state of Herefordshire's roads.

Ronnie Wilkie says he won't pay his council tax until the road between Kinnersley and Almeley is fixed, while residents living in Cusop, near Hay-on-Wye say no is listening about the state of their road. 

Herefordshire Council say that 133,000 square metres of C and U roads in the county have been improved as part of the Department for Transport’s £2.558m additional investment for highways.

Coun Barry Durkin, cabinet member for roads and regulatory services, said patching repairs, followed by surface dressing of the selected roads, at an appropriate time in the life cycle of the road, is considered the most cost-effective use of the funding.

Herefordshire Council has not commented about the state of the road in Bearwood.
