A DELICIOUS event has been declared a success after drawing the crowds to a Herefordshire pub.

Kington Marmalade Competition organisers are 'delighted' with the number of entries received at the inaugural event.

Sixty jars were judged by Jane Maggs during the competition held at The Barn in the Oxford Arms, Kington on Saturday.

A variety of mouth-watering flavours were entered and visitors also enjoyed tasting marmalades and a colouring competition was also held for children.

The popular event was held during National Marmalade Week.

Pam Peek, who organised the event with Gareth Clarke said: "The competition came together in a very short space of time of which we were thrilled as it exceeded all expectations. Everyone had a chance to taste marmalades from around the world, thanks to our judge."

"The lucky winners go on to have free entry into the Dalemain World Marmalade 2025 where entries come from all over the globe.

"It was an enjoyable day and we sincerely thank everyone for supporting us in any way, but most of all Jane Maggs our judge who worked so hard. She was outstanding."
