DEDICATED Herefordshire care workers have been recognised for their long service with a special afternoon of celebrations.

Home care company Kemble at Home thanked 14 members of staff who have been employed by the firm for at least 10 years.

The company held an afternoon of celebrations, with an amazing afternoon tea, provided by Ledbury-based, Shell House Kitchen, to put the long-serving members in the spotlight and to praise them for all they have done for their clients, over their combined 218 years of service.

Some celebrated not one, but two decades with Kemble at Home. Jane Knott has been with the company for 23 years, with Tracey Karen and Pam Beddow close behind on 22 years.

Dominic King, managing director of Kemble at Home, said: “One in five of our visiting care staff has now been with us for more than a decade. We are very proud of all our staff and for the important and often overlooked work they do looking after clients in the community over many decades.”

Kemble registered manager Jason Walker said it was an exception in the home care sector to have staff that have been with a company for so long.

"We see it as a great compliment, and we try our best to look after our staff as well as we look after our clients," he said.

Sharon King, who found Kemble at Home 30 years ago, also joined the celebrations.
