A HEREFORDSHIRE hotel business is up for sale due to "significant health issues".

The business, which is on the market with agents Hilton Smythe for £249,995 (leasehold), was established more than two decades ago and offers a "highly-rated opportunity", the agents said.

The agents said the current owners took charge of The Paddocks Hotel in Symonds Yat, near Ross-on-Wye, in 2020, and that they are selling "with a heavy heart due to their significant health issues".

The agents said the hotel boasts a recently refurbished restaurant with an "enticing" new menu, open to both guests and the public, while the "extremely large" function room has capacity for 250 and is used for events including weddings, parties, dance groups, travel groups, and proms.

The function room has already received 40 bookings this year, the agents said.

The hotel, which promises scenic views, also has 26 en-suite bedrooms with TVs and tea and coffee-making facilities, and is currently run by the owners with the help of four or five staff members and ad-hoc staff for events.

Outside is a large car park with capacity for more than 100 cars and landscaped gardens.

The business is being sold on a leasehold basis with six years remaining on a 10-year lease, Hilton Smythe said, with current rent of £48,000 per annum.
