A HEREFORDSHIRE road will be closed for six months from next month.

Ledgemoor Road, near Weobley, will be shut from April 12 due to culvert works taking place.

Herefordshire Council says an alternative route will be locally signposted, with the work expected to be completed within six months.

Meanwhile, a three-month closure has today (March 18) started in Pontrilas.

The C1233 Pontrilas village road will be shut so that a retaining road can be strengthened.

There will also be two-way temporary traffic lights on the B4347 at the junction with the C1233 while the works take place.

A diversion will be in place via the C1233, A465 and B4247, and vice versa.

Pedestrian access through the road closure will be maintained, but there will be no access for vehicles through the road closure due to the amount of machinery and equipment which will be on site.
