A HEREFORD man who stole bicycles and steak in Hereford has been sentenced.

Geneadjos Kleins, from Cornewall Street in the Whitecross area of the city, stole three bikes between November 14, 2023 and February 2, 2024.

The 24-year-old also tried to take another bike on October 15, 2023. On that occasion, had bolt cutters, gloves, a snood, pliers and a torch.

The steak theft, meanwhile, happened in M&S on October 7, 2023, while Kleins also stole cosmetics, a Phillips razor and other items from Boots on July 3, 2023.

He pleaded guilty to three counts of theft of a pedal cycle, one count of attempted theft of a pedal cycle, one count of going equipped for theft, and two counts of theft from a shop when he appeared at Hereford Magistrates Court.

Kleins was handed a 12-month community order requiring him to carry out 15 rehabilitation activity days. He will also have to undertake 200 hours' of unpaid work and pay compensation to his victims, including M&S and Boots.

The items he used to attempt to steal a bike will now be forfeited and destroyed.
