A HEREFORDSHIRE train fare dodger has been ordered to pay hundreds of pounds after failing to buy a train ticket.
Martyn Craddock was convicted of travelling on a Great Western Railway service without paying his fare when he appeared before magistrates at court in Swindon last month, on February 23.
The ticket he should have bought cost £37.80, according to First Great Western Trains Limited.

The court heard that the 39-year-old had travelled on a railway without having paid his fare and with intent to avoid payment in Bradford-on-Avon, Wiltshire, on November 15 last year, which is a criminal offence.
Craddock, who is of Winslow Road in Bromyard, was fined £220 for the offence and ordered to pay compensation of £37.80, which was the price of the ticket.
He must also pay prosecution costs of £180 and an £88 victim surcharge, which is used to fund services supporting victims of crime.
