WE may now be in the meteorological spring, but many people were surprised to see snow falling in Herefordshire this morning.

The worst affected areas were in Bromyard, with the conditions proving to be treacherous on some of the roads.

This included the A465 Hereford to Bromyard Road, where an overturned van caused the carriageway to be temporarily blocked.

There were also reports of traffic problems on the A44 between Bringsty and Knightwick, while over the border into Worcestershire, there was a crash on the A456 at Clows Top in Worcestershire, near Tenbury Wells.

The Met Office weather warning for snow in Herefordshire has now expired, with rain now falling in the county.
