A large Hereford warehouse of reclaimed home fittings plans to become more appealing for customers.
Based in a former munitions factory at the Rotherwas industrial estate east of the city, Warehouse 701 claims to be the largest salvage and homeware centre in the West Midlands, supplying interior and shop designers and even film and stage designers as well as households.
The centre already has a café but wants to offer hot food and drinks within the main warehouse building and to license the shop and online sales section for alcohol off-sales.

The company also plans to “offer themed evenings and events which will include fine dining accompanied by the sale of alcohol”, its application says.
“Such events may extend into the evening but we have no intention of creating a late-night operation,” it adds.
Comments on the licensing application, which seeks to permit alcohol sales until 11pm each night, can be made via the Herefordshire Council licensing webpage until March 15.
