Christopher Keylock accused of tailgating ambulance on A46 Bypass

Christopher Keylock, of Cleve Prior Travellers Site, Evesham Road, is accused of dangerous driving a Ford Ranger on the A44 Evesham Road and A46 Evesham Bypass on November 20 last year. 

Andrew Mitchinson, prosecuting, said it is the prosecution's case the 55-year-old tailgated an ambulance closely on flashing blue lights that day.

The prosecution alleges Keylock committed the offence when he was disqualified from driving and had no insurance. 

Keylock, who didn't attend the latest hearing of the case at Worcester Magistrates Court, is also due to be sentenced for a number of offences he has pleaded guilty to. 

Keylock has admitted driving while disqualified on Evesham Road, Cheltenham, on January 10 last year. 

On the same date Keylock admits driving a Peugeot 308 without a test certificate, failing to provide a specimen for analysis and driving with no insurance. 

Keylock also admits possession of a Class A drug - one gram of cocaine being found on him that day.

Keylock has pleaded guilty to criminal damage - destroying a police cell wall and door in Gloucester, valued at £151, on September 7. 

And he also admits driving a Volkswagen Golf vehicle on Gloucester Road, Cheltenham, while he was disqualified and when he had no insurance. 

The case was adjourned as one of Keylock's solicitors was unable to attend court on Thursday, (February 22). 

Chris Aggrey, defending Keylock, said he was asking for an adjournment for a psychiatric report. 

Darren Smith, chairman of the magistrates bench, granted the report and said the case would be adjourned.

He told Mr Aggrey to pass on to the defendant he must attend the next hearing which is scheduled to take place on Friday, March 8 at 2pm.

Keylock has unconditional bail.
