A GRUDGE between two women led to one attacking the other with a wine bottle in a Hereford bakery.

Lauren Holland, of Pomona Place, Hereford, caused injuries to her victim's head when she attacked her at Greggs in Broad Street during the afternoon of June 18, 2023.

Lauren Millichip, prosecuting at Hereford Magistrates Court, said the 39-year-old started punching the other woman in the side of the head, before telling her, "next time I am going to bottle you".

Further altercations happened in the Living Room in Commercial Road when Holland threatened her victim on August 30 and 31 respectively.

The court heard that it was related to ongoing proceedings involving the pair.

Holland pleaded guilty to two counts of assault by beating and two of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress.

Representing herself, she told the court that she had known the victim for 15 to 20 years.

"I'm not making any excuses for my behaviour and am sorry," she said.

"I should have dealt with it better - I don't know why I did it, it got out of hand.

"I am autistic and have impulsive actions."

Holland's support worker also gave evidence to the court, stating that she has shown excellent progress in the last couple of months and now avoids situations that could cause her to have impulsive outbursts.

Holland was given conditional bail to return back to Hereford Magistrates Court on March 12.
