SINCE the Venns Lane colleges expanded, it has become impossible to park in the Churchill Gardens car park during the week.

Complaints to the council resulted in a quick visit to put a couple of tickets on cars parked out of the official areas, but no effort to enforce the two-hour waiting time. Since then the park is full at 8.45am and remains full all day. Further complaints on the website get no reply at all.

The council says that there is no arrangement with the colleges for parking but obviously are not going to address the problem.

The car park is for the benefit of visitors to the site but that is not now possible during term times.
