West Midlands Fire and Ambulance Service and Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service were involved in the operation yesterday evening (February 6) which involved rescuing the man "from depth" in Brampton Street, Ross-on-Wye.
The fire service carried out the rescue then handed the man, who remained conscious and breathing, over to the ambulance service.
The man in his 40s was found not to have suffered injuries but was taken to Hereford County Hospital as a precaution.
