A HEREFORDSHIRE pub has given an update after a man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a knife and assaulting a police officer.
A man was arrested at the Eagle Inn in Ross-on-Wye on Wednesday, January 24, after police received reports of a man with a knife at around 10pm that night.
A statement from Stonegate, which owns the Eagle, says: "A man was removed from the pub having found to be in possession of a knife, and no threatening behaviour or assault was reported.

"Stonegate are assisting police with any further enquiries."
However, a police statement said that the man had been arrested on suspicion of both possession of the knife and assaulting an officer.
West Mercia Police confirmed: "Officers attended the public house and one man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article and on suspicion of assaulting an officer."
