A 42-YEAR-old burglar who raided a Worcestershire GP surgery has been fined and will now complete a drug rehabilitation programme.
Russell Purfield, of no fixed abode, admitted a charge of burglary at Kidderminster Magistrates Court on January 12 following his arrest the day before.
The court heard Purfield committed the burglary on December 28 last year at Riverside GP Surgery in Evesham.
Officers from Evesham Safer Neighbourhood team supported by officers from B shift response arrested Purfield at an address in Hampton before he was taken to custody.
He was later interviewed and charged with this offence, remaining in custody.
Purfield was given a 12-month community order with a six-month drug rehabilitation programme and told to complete 20 rehabilitation activity requirement days.
The defendant was also fined £100 and ordered to pay costs of £185.
Police Constable Martin Kennedy from Evesham Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) said: “The SNT are committed to working with the community and taking positive action to catch and convict offenders whenever possible.
