A HEREFORDSHIRE takeaway could soon be opening its doors as a sign has been put up.

Cheeky Tito's Peri Peri Chicken has put up its sign on the shopfront in Ross-on-Wye's Broad Street, the previous premises of the diner and ice cream parlour Gelatis.

Before Gelatis closed, the former owner Tina Knapman revealed that the next business to occupy the building would be a Portuguese restaurant.

She said that the restaurant would be run by a Portuguese family, serving authentic peri peri chicken

. Although she is not connected to the new endeavour, she had been told about the family's plans and said that they wanted to serve "fresh and healthy food".

Mrs Knapman previously told the Hereford Times: "It'll be great to have food made authentically by a Portuguese family in Ross."

It is expected that customers will be able to take food away or eat in.
