WE have seventy-four stepping stones across the green at Chartwell Road, Bladon Crescent and Blenheim Close, all in dire need of attention. Due to many years of neglect, the grass was partially covering them, and needed careful removal.

I am delighted to report that a team of young people from Close House tackled the most challenging task of exposing the flagstones. The green has now been left looking neat and tidy, with all the overgrown turf bagged up and ready for collection by Balfour Beatty.

Residents were keen to show their appreciation by lending their gardening tools and offering refreshments to the hard-working team.

The young people of Close House can justifiably be very proud of their achievement in providing an excellent service to our community.
