Having posted my name at the head of his latest letter dated December 14, Mr Bradbury associates me with distortions, omissions and commissions.

I haven't been guilty of any. He might have thanked me, instead, for giving information (about Elgar's unlikely "bodyguard" Canon Gorton) of which he was patently unaware. And he a former secretary of the Elgar in Hereford Society.

Clearly there's more pomp than circumstance going on here.
