A HEREFORDSHIRE school has had to close early today (December 15).

Leominster Primary School says it is due to fault with its fire alarm.

A notification provided by Herefordshire Council reads: "Please come to school as soon as possible to collect your child.

"Go to the classrooms for reception and years 1, 2, and 3. Year 4 - collect from the normal end of day point.

"Year 5 and 6 children must be collected by an adult on your pick-up list. We will keep you up to date regarding when the fault has been fixed."

Yesterday (December 14), three county schools had to close due to a burst water main.

Fairfield High School, Ewyas Harold Primary School and Peterchurch Primary School were all shut for the day, with the issues affecting their toilet and cooking facilities.

The burst pipe affected much of Vowchurch, Peterchurch and Brampton, meaning homes and businesses in that area will also be affected.
