A CAR crashed into a lamppost in Hereford last night (December 14).

Both the police and fire service were called to Eastholme Avenue, near Brook Farm Court, in Belmont at around 10.50pm.

The car and the scene were made safe by the fire service; however, there were no injuries.

It comes on the back of a number of crashes that have happened in the county during the past week.

Last weekend alone, a total of 15 people were injured in four separate incidents.

This included Hampton Park Road, in Hereford, and on the A44 at Bringsty Common.

The former resulted in six people requiring assessment after the head-on crash, while the latter saw five people taken to hospital after the crash involving a minibus and two cars. 

Other crashes that have happened during the past week include one on the A4113 in Leintwardine on Tuesday (December 11). Two men were taken to hospital, with one of them having potentially serious injuries.
