A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a car crash at a busy junction. 

The crash happened at the junction of Worcester Road and Tagwell Road in Droitwich on Monday, December 11.

West Mercia Police attended alongside West Midlands Ambulance Service and Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service.

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "We were called at 7.20pm to a report of a collision involving two vehicles on Tagwell Road at the junction with Worcester Road.

"One man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving."

West Midlands Ambulance Service said a man sustained potentially serious injuries in the crash.

A spokesperson said: "We were called at 7.27pm on Monday (December 11) to a road traffic collision involving two cars on Tagwell Road in Droitwich Spa.

"One ambulance attended the scene.

"Upon arrival we found a man who was the driver of one of the cars.

"He was assessed by ambulance staff at the scene and had sustained potentially serious injuries.

"He was conveyed to Alexandra Hospital for further treatment. The driver of the second car did not require treatment.”

A crew from Droitwich Fire Station was called at 7.14pm on Monday, December 11 to the crash.

A spokesperson for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said: "The incident involved two cars both of which were on all four wheels and made safe by fire service personnel.

"There were two casualties, one female in her 20s and one male in his 40s, who were handed over to the care of the ambulance service who attended along with police.

"Worcester Road was closed due to the incident which was marked as pending closure at 7.48pm."
