THE weather has forced the Hay-on-Wye Christmas market to be cancelled today (December 9).

Announcing the news yesterday (December 8), Hay Markets said it is too dangerous for them to set up stalls due to the high winds forecase, and public and trader safety is paramount.

Therefore, there will be no market in the square, buttermarket, clock tower or honesty bookshop.

However, some traders will be still be at Hay Castle Trust and Hay Cheese Market Hall.

In an update this morning (December 9), Hay Markets has said some traders have managed to relocate elsewhere, while some will still be in the town.
