Do you remember this lost Hereford nightclub?
Norma Jean’s nightclub opened in West Street in 1990 with the aim of bringing a sophisticated nightlife experience to the city.
Named after Marilyn Monroe, whose real name was Norma Jean, the club was open to sssssss only and sought to appeal to an over-21s audience.

The Monroe theme was present throughout the establishment, with various images of the iconic movie-star being displayed on the walls of Norma Jean’s.
To create the nightclub, owner Phil Watts converted a series of old snooker rooms into a large multi-level dance and club area which boasted a large bar and state-of-the-art disco equipment.
There was also a smaller bar which served hot and cold food throughout the day.
When the club first opened Phil Watts told the Hereford Times: “Norma Jean’s will really look after its members.”
“Our main aim is to provide good, easy to listen to music for our more mature members along with a relaxed atmosphere, first-class TV and video entertainment along with excellent food and drink in comfortable surroundings.”
