A COMPANY director has been fined by magistrates after failing to comply with an order to change his company's name.

Igor Zhurkin and Label Luxe Ltd were proven guilty of one count of failing to comply with a direction to change the name of a company which was similar to an existing name by magistrates in Worcester in November.

The court heard from the prosecutor that Zhurkin, who was not present at the hearing, had been the director of a company, Label Luxe, which had been directed by the Secretary of State to change its name.

But, between January 24 and May 31, Zhurkin had failed to take all reasonable steps to cause the company to comply with that direction, contrary to the Companies Act 2006.
