A HEREFORDSHIRE restaurant will be closing its doors to customers on Christmas Eve.

The popular Orles Barn will be closing its restaurant on December 24, according to a notice posted on the business' website.

Food will be served as normal until then, giving locals just over a month to enjoy the award-winning Ross-on-Wye eatery.

After the restaurant shuts its doors, Orles Barn will focus entirely on operating as a bed and breakfast, the notice confirmed.

Their small, four-room hotel boasts a five-star rating according to Giata and has been ranked as ‘very good’ or ‘excellent’ by every one of its TripAdvisor reviewers.

One reviewer said: “Looked after like royalty from the moment we walked through the door.

“Roxy and Matt have created something really special here, the room was large and beautifully decorated and the lounge and restaurant areas were tastefully appointed.

“They were happy to spend time chatting with us and were genuinely interested in what we had to say.

“They remembered that it was our wedding anniversary and that we had a name connection with the room we stayed in, they could not have done more to make our stay perfect.

“Breakfast was really good too.”
