A MAN died near a Herefordshire supermarket yesterday (October 18).

Emergency services were called to Orchard Lane, near to Tesco, in Ledbury, at just after 3.15pm to reports of a medical emergency.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham attended the scene.

"On arrival, we discovered a man in a critical condition.

"Ambulance staff administered advanced life support to him. Unfortunately, despite their best efforts nothing more could be done to save him and he was confirmed deceased at the scene.”

It is understood that Tesco was temporarily closed while emergency services dealt with the incident.
