THE annual fireworks display at Hereford Racecourse has attracted thousands of people; however, for the second year running it will not be held there.

Hereford Round Table organised the event but decided last year to hold it at the Livestock Market.

Unfortunately, the site off Roman Road caused parking chaos with many people being turned away, some of whom reportedly bought pre-booked tickets.

Many people thought that the event could return to the racecourse this year; however, it has been confirmed that Hereford Round Table will not be running it.

Nevertheless, it looks like it could resume next year with St Michael's Hospice the new organisers.

Matt Ashcroft, events and community fundraising manager at the hospice, said: “Having been in contact with Hereford Round Table in August regarding the 2023 Hereford fireworks display, which unfortunately will not be proceeding, St Michael’s Hospice can confirm it is working in partnership with Hereford Racecourse and Niteforce Fireworks to try and bring a professional display to Hereford on 2nd November 2024. Further details will be announced in due course.”

The Hereford Times has approached Hereford Round Table for a comment.
