TELEVISION gardening expert Monty Don dropped in to St Michael’s Hospice to lend his advice to the charity’s team of gardening volunteers.

The Herefordshire-based star of Gardeners’ World has made regular trips to the Bartestree-based hospice over the last couple of years to lend his advice on its impressive green spaces.

“We’re so grateful for the support and advice Monty has given our volunteer gardeners,” said Mike Keel, chief executive of St Michael's Hospice.

“He’s played a huge part in helping our grounds look as beautiful as they do.

“Just as important are our dedicated team of volunteer gardeners who give up their time throughout the year, helping our grounds look so welcoming to patients, their loved ones, hospice volunteers and staff.”

Monty Don presents Gardener's World from his Longmeadow home, near Leominster.

He has also made acclaimed prime time series such as Around the World in 80 Gardens, Monty Don’s Italian Gardens, Monty Don’s French Gardens, The Secret History of the British Garden, Monty Don’s Paradise Gardens , Monty Don’s Japanese Gardens, Monty Don’s American Gardens and three series of Big Dreams, Small Spaces.
