THERE were long queues of people in Worcester wanting to try award-winning burgers from Hereford's Beefy Boys.

The Old Market-based restaurant team partnered with GoodRoots cafe to deliver burgers from a pop-up stand at the Royal Worcester Porcelain Works in Worcester yesterday (Friday, August 25).

Customers could use the GoodRoots tables to enjoy their Beefy Boys burgers while listening to music.

GoodRoots is a cafe in the old factory that was once home to the world-famous manufacturer of Royal Worcester Porcelain. The works has been transformed into centre for the arts.

Long queues had formed along one section of the works' courtyard as customers waited patiently to get their hands on the famous burgers.

"It is good that we finally have a burger joint that has won some awards. They just need to open a shop in Worcester," said Beefy Boys fan Adam Ball.

"We have travelled to Hereford a couple of times, and the Cheltenham store is great, but we want one here.

"We said we would go down at 3.30pm to make sure we can get a burger and grab ourselves a table."

Beefy Boys started serving food at 4pm, and the queue grew immediately.

Emma Gonzalez said: "I have heard it's really good. I want to find out for myself.

"GoodRoots is a nice location for this."

The world burger championship finalists and winners of the National Burger Awards have a significant following and have drawn in large crowds on previous visits to Worcestershire.

Adam Groves said he had one of their burgers last week but had queued to have another.

"We saw them advertise, saying they were about this week, so we decided to stop and have some nice food," he said.

"I have been a fan for a couple of years now."
