A SUMMER holidays treasure hunt is coming to Herefordshire.

Winter Glow, the biggest festive event in the Three Counties, has launched a summer treasure hunt designed to keep families in Herefordshire entertained during the school holidays and introduce children to historic and interesting sites in the county.

Participants will be given five riddles to solve, with the answer to each riddle being a local landmark. Those who successfully solve all five riddles will be entered into a draw to win VIP ticket bundles to Winter Glow this Christmas.

Running until Friday, September 8, families can enter in two ways.

Those looking to get active this summer are invited to solve the five riddles and post a selfie of themselves at each local landmark on Instagram, tagging Winter Glow, @winterglowuk. Everyone who posts will be entered into a draw to win a Nice List VIP package at the event which includes tickets to a personalised meet and greet experience with Santa, ice skating, access to the light trail, fairground tokens, and more.

Those who would prefer to take part from home can solve the five riddles and submit their answers via the internet. Online entrants will be entered into a draw to win tickets for a group of up to four to either Christmas ice skating or the light trail.

A spokesperson said: "As a parent myself, I know it can be a challenge to keep children entertained throughout the summer holidays. We have devised this summer competition as a fun way for families to spend time together whilst discovering more about the local landmarks on their doorstep.

“Using the clues to work out the local landmarks, families can submit their answers online to be in with a chance of winning light trail or ice-skating tickets for Winter Glow, or they can take it one step further by visiting the landmark and submitting a selfie for a chance to win our best VIP experience as their prize.”
