A HEREFORDSHIRE farm shop has taken home multiple prestigious Great Taste awards.

Oakchurch Farm Shop, situated near Staunton-on-Wye, has won seven awards at the international competition this year, bringing their all-time total up to 43.

Great Taste is one of the largest and most respected food and drink accreditation awards scheme, and is internationally recognised among consumers and major food buyers alike. The awards were established in 1994 by the Guild of Fine Food, and each year, they celebrate the best artisan and speciality food producers in the world.

Judged by over 100 of the most discerning palates, belonging to food critics, chefs, cooks, restaurateurs, buyers, retailers, and producers, as well as food writers and journalists, Great Taste is highly coveted.

As well as a badge of honour, the black and gold Great Taste label is a signpost to an outstanding product, which has been discovered through hours and hours of blind tasting.

Four of Oakchurch’s awards were for their own farm beef, sirloin steak, T-bone steak, steak and kidney pie, and steak and ale pie. Their homemade raspberry sorbet, cheesy leak & potato pie and chicken & ham pie also proved to be winners.

"We’re proud to be able to display the Great Taste Awards logo as a distinct indication of our high quality and great tasting homemade food as do many of the other local food and drink producers that you’ll find here at Oakchurch," said Nick Price, owner of Oakchurch.
