AN award-winning Herefordshire chef will be hosting celebrities and running workshops for this year's Ludlow Food Festival.

Andy Link, chef patron at The Riverside Inn in Aymestrey, Herefordshire, will be hosting celebrities and chefs from the Ludlow Food Festival over the weekend of September 8 to 10.

“It’s an honour to be hosting people who are at the top of their game in terms of food and food writing,” said Mr Link.

“As always, we will be pulling out all the stops to ensure that everyone has a fabulous time, and can sample as much of our fantastic local produce as possible.”

The chef will also be appearing at the prestigious and highly popular food festival as a celebrity chef in his own right.

On Friday, September 8, he will be running a session based on food sustainability, sourcing foods in an environmentally friendly fashion and reducing food waste at home (Outer Bailey, 2pm).

And on Sunday, September 10, in his capacity as the Marches Slow Food chef, he will be running a taste workshop (Beacon Rooms, 2.30pm).

He will be using unusual ingredients to inspire people to experiment with new flavours and textures. He will be cooking with Golden Valley goat, organic pork and Perry Wood Farm hogget.

Mr Link will also be discussing the importance of ‘good’ agriculture, encompassing issues such as soil health, regenerative practices and the positive impact ethical farming can have on the local community.

As the son of a Herefordshire farming family, he is well-placed to lead the conversation on these topics.

He will also be on the judging panel of the Best New Product. This will be judged in August and the winner announced at the festival.

This year's festival, held at Ludlow Castle, will be hosting more than 100 exhibitors, predominantly from Ludlow and the Welsh Marches.

Promising "something for everyone", it will feature a line-up of chefs, food writers, producers, and authors through the weekend.
