A NEW art exhibition has opened celebrating heritage in Flint.

In November 2022 the artists, aged between 7 and 14, began illustrating Flint Castle in popular historical styles including Medieval Art, Impressionism and Pop Art with a bit of personal arts freedom!

The young artists wanted to depict the people who have lived and worked in Flint since the Castle was built to create a montage of a crowd.

As the project progressed the children produced more amazing artwork including a collaborative collage of birds on the Dee Estuary, fish in mixed media and illustrations from the poem 'Sands of the River Dee' by Charles Kingsley.

The final project looked at Dee Estuary vessels throughout history to create a second collaborative canvas.

The exhibition, entitled 'Off Flint' runs until August 29 with free admission during normal library opening hours.
